As a Certified Teacher with a Master's Degree in Education and over 20 years of experience, I specialize in working with students of all ages to build lasting academic success. Our first lesson will be about getting to know each other. I will ask my new students questions about their skill sets and current needs. I will hope to discover what their subject goals are and what areas they are particularly concerned about. We will then plan a strategy about how to proceed. I like to have my students involved in their sessions, so they know what to expect and what to prepare for. I do not neglect their current state of being. If the student is visibly distressed or distracted, I will approach their feelings. A person can't absorb information if they are anxious about something. I am compassionate and nurturing, which I find helps students relax and enjoy their session. I try to make their lessons fun!
