About Amah

I'm passionate about lifelong learning and have a strong foundation for tutoring, thanks to my academic journey and professional experiences. I hold a Master's degree in Adult, Professional, and Community Education (APCE) from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish for Global Competence from the University of Texas, Arlington, where I also earned a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification.

My TESOL certification helped shape my teaching methodology, which emphasizes creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment. I've had the opportunity to implement these strategies during my internships, including at Irving ISD's Adult Education and Literacy program and Tyson Foods' Adult Workforce Literacy Program. The latter of the two, allowed me to apply my language teaching skills in a professional context, helping adult learners navigate the complexities of the workplace. These experiences enhanced my ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs, making me a valuable tutor.

As an online tutor at Cambly Inc. since June 2021, I've interacted with over 2000 students with varying levels of English proficiency. Each interaction has helped me understand the unique challenges faced by learners and has honed my abilities to provide individualized support. My students have given me high ratings, which attests to the effectiveness of my teaching style.

I believe my educational qualifications and varied teaching experiences, combined with my drive to help students in achieving their goals, make me a well-prepared tutor. I approach tutoring with an open mind, adapting my methods to the individual needs of the learner, and believe that every student can reach their full potential with the right guidance.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is rooted in creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment for adults, which I've had ample opportunities to implement in various settings. I also have had real-world applications of language teaching, combining theory with practice, and enhancing my capabilities as a tutor.
