About Josh
Through expertly pitched lessons, boundless enthusiasm, and an incisive understanding of the curriculum, I was able to support X% of my last Year 11 class to achieve 8-9, with X% grade 9.
I have taught for 5 years in two highly-successful London State Schools, including planning assessments for hundreds of pupils, and I have been congratulated by my pupils for my warm approach that has made them enthusiastic to engage in my lessons.

I have two key beliefs about Maths education. The first is that the majority of students who 'hate Maths' have simply not yet been given the proper support to do well in it. With a warm, enthusiastic, precisely-tailored approach that takes into account their prior learning, they can overcome anxiety and appreciate the joy of the subject.
My second belief is that Maths learning should go beyond common teaching styles where students simply repeat procedures without truly knowing what they're doing. Strong conceptual understanding is key to success. By first determining where and why there are gaps and then building a strong and interconnected set of Mathematical understandings, I can help a pupil achieve not just excellent exam results but robust, lifelong skills with number, algebra, and problem solving.
I offer tutoring in Maths for any ability level up to Year 12.
