About Laila
I am a tutor who is passionate about learning and teaching. I have gained top grades at GCSE and A-Levels, and I am studying Computer Science at University. I have extensive experience of preparing students for 11+ and entrance examinations (13+) for the leading private schools in the country, with a high success rate. I can tutor students in Maths, Sciences, and Latin all up to A Level. Aside from teaching, I am a keen violinist and enjoy playing lacrosse. Moreover, I love to code and take part in hackathons.
I have worked for a number of years as a private tutor in the St Albans area, tutoring students in Maths, Sciences, Latin, and English up to GCSE Level. I have also become familiar with the American University application system, having gone through the process myself, so I can provide advice to potential applicants and support for the ACT and SAT exams.
Everyone has different learning styles, and as I have tutored students within my school and outside, I have learnt that no two tutees are the same. I always encourage my students to understand what they are learning, which creates a more enjoyable learning experience. Furthermore, through my studying, I have developed tips and tricks to enhance revision. Each student has different needs and difficulties, so by developing a thorough study plan and through collaborative tuition sessions, I hope to make my tutees more confident in subjects that they once found difficult.
