About Caroline

Hi, I’m Caroline! I’m finishing my BS in Applied Mathematics at Missouri State and have already started my accelerated master’s program in math. For the past five years I’ve tutored students from middle school through college, and for the last year and a half I’ve also worked as a TA and grader for university-level courses. I love helping students make sense of math (whether that means building a strong foundation in algebra, working through calculus step by step, or tackling proof-based classes that can feel overwhelming at first). My approach is patient, flexible, and focused on making sure you actually understand the “why” behind each step. In addition to live sessions, I also offer homework and proof checking services: you send me your completed solutions or proofs, and I provide detailed feedback on correctness, logic, and clarity. This is great if you want a quick turnaround before an assignment is due or need help spotting gaps in your reasoning. My goal is always to build confidence, clear up confusion, and help you succeed in your classes. Whether you need consistent tutoring, quick homework help, or feedback on your writing, I’d love to work with you!

About the lesson

As a tutor with 5 years of experience and a strong academic background in mathematics, my approach is centered on building understanding, not just memorization. I focus on helping students see the “why” behind each concept so they can apply their knowledge confidently, not just for homework, but on exams and in real-life problem solving.

In a typical lesson, I’ll first assess where the student is struggling or what they’re currently learning in class. Then, we’ll work through targeted examples together, with plenty of time for guided practice and questions. I use visual aids, analogies, and step-by-step breakdowns to make even complex topics more approachable.

What sets me apart is that I’m currently completing my Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics and starting my Master’s in Mathematics, so I bring both deep subject knowledge and a good understanding of how math is taught today. I’m patient, flexible, and I adjust my teaching style depending on how each student learns best (whether that’s through repetition, visuals, real-world examples, or detailed explanations).

My lessons are ideal for:

Anyone needing help with algebra, calculus (1, 2, or 3), pre-calculus, trigonometry, or linear algebra
Students preparing for ACT/SAT math or college placement exams
