About Elora

I am a Maths tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BA in Mathematics, specialising in the fascinating areas of topology and knot theory. My teaching centres on helping students understand shapes, spaces, and the beauty of continuous deformations. I use clear visual aids, diagrams, and interactive methods to make abstract concepts come alive. Complex ideas become approachable when linked to real-world examples, such as molecular structures, networks, and even artistic patterns. I enjoy working with students who are curious about abstract mathematics and its surprising connections to physics, chemistry, and art. Topology, with its focus on the properties of space, often feels both strange and exciting, and I guide learners to see the intuition behind the formal proofs. Knot theory, in particular, allows us to explore deep questions with applications in biology, quantum physics, and computer science. My lessons are tailored to encourage logical thinking while still valuing creativity and exploration. I believe that mathematics is not just about solving equations but about discovering patterns and structures that shape our world. Through guided practice and discussion, I help students strengthen both their reasoning and their imagination.

My teaching approach in Mathematics is highly structured, where each lesson builds concept upon concept. I believe that a strong foundation in algebra is the key to mastering advanced topics. Once this base is secure, students can confidently progress into calculus concepts such as differentiation and integration, understanding both their mechanics and applications. Geometry is taught through clear proofs and logical reasoning, which helps students strengthen problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Probability and statistics are another area I focus on, using real-life examples to show how numbers explain patterns in everyday life. By making abstract concepts concrete, students gain confidence in applying mathematics beyond the classroom. Every lesson follows a clear progression path, ensuring there are no gaps in understanding. I work with each student’s pace and provide tailored guidance to make sure their learning experience is personalised. My method not only prepares them for exams and assignments but also builds skills useful for future academic and professional goals. Whether it’s solving complex problems or simplifying tough equations, I help learners see maths as both logical and creative. As a Future Actuary and Problem Solver, I bring real-world insights that make mathematics feel practical and meaningful. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore different methods, and develop lasting confidence in their abilities. With my support, they not only understand concepts but also learn how to apply them effectively. Step by step, I guide them towards excelling and mastering the subject with clarity.
