Tutoring should give accurate information that is delivered clearly, allowing students to digest and assimilate easily. Structured sessions are essential for optimal learning and prevent them from feeling overwhelmed with content. The skills I have learnt throughout my education, such as effective
planning, chunking, and figuring out where new topics fit in with previous ones, will allow students to easily follow the content being taught. I like to use diagrams to present information which makes it more likely to be remembered and reproduced when recalled in the future.
Adapting to how students learn best and offering them different methods of understanding gives them tools to
help them when studying independently. Supporting students with different learning styles helps give them confidence by showing new ways to learn that work with them, rather than against them.
Lessons usually last an hour, however, the length can be made longer or shorter if necessary.
Throughout my life, I have loved teaching people, especially something science-related. For the past three months, I have tutored six students A-Level biology; however, they are almost finished with their studies, so I will no longer be with them.
My lessons are for people aged 13 to 18, ranging from A-Level and GCSE content.
