About James Tobi

I am an experienced musicologist and teacher with ten years of home-based instruction for over 20 students from diverse backgrounds (Nigerian, Indian, French, Lebanese). Many of my students have become accomplished professional musicians, and all who took professional exams passed with distinction.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology, for both children and adults, centers on three musical fundamentals:
1. Theory,
2. Ear training,
3. Practical application.

Children learn through play, while adult instruction emphasizes practical training. Also prepare my students for professional exams e.g Muson
