My son started to learn trumpet with Maddy when he was 9 (then followed her for 3 years until she moved out of town). Practising music is never easy for young children. But Maddy seems having magic to engage her students. (Yes, even playing scale is a fun thing to do!) She has a lot of fun ideas to learn music, but never compromise the quality and endeavour to build good music foundation. She encourages her students to learn different types of music, as well as giving them chances to make their own. Maddy inspires her students by sharing her musical knowledge and her own journey of being a professional musician. It helps my son to love music!

Maddy is also a highly commended conductor. Even during COVID, she found a lot of great ideas to engage the students to learn music (including my son).

Maddy was my son's trumpet teacher for many years. Her skill, enthusiasm and patience has taken him to a high level. He was really able to focus on him as an individual tailoring her lessons to his strengths and weaknesses and bringing out the best in him.
