My science lessons are structured, personalised and focused on helping students make clear progress in confidence, understanding and exam performance.

I teach
KS3 Science
GCSE Biology
GCSE Chemistry
GCSE Physics
GCSE Combined Science
A-Level Chemistry
A-Level Physics
A-Level Biology
Lessons are suitable for students studying AQA, Edexcel, OCR and iGCSE specifications.

As a qualified secondary school science teacher and examiner, I understand how students can gain marks in exams and where they commonly lose them. My lessons combine clear explanations, targeted practice and exam technique so students can improve both their scientific knowledge and their ability to answer exam questions accurately.

Each lesson usually includes:

A quick check of prior knowledge
Clear teaching of key concepts
Worked examples and model answers
Exam-style questions
Mark scheme guidance
Feedback on mistakes and misconceptions
Optional homework or revision tasks

I adapt lessons to each student’s needs, whether they are aiming to build confidence, secure a pass, move from Foundation to Higher tier, or achieve top grades at GCSE or A-Level.

I can support students and parents with topic revision, exam preparation, past paper practice, homework support, missed school content, home education and long-term grade improvement.

Lessons take place online using interactive teaching tools, so students can ask questions, practise exam answers and receive immediate feedback throughout the session.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in my field from GCSE. I was good at chemistry, and science in general and understood a lot of the fundamental concepts within. I was interested in private tutoring in my second year of my degree whereby I was a mentor for first years on my course and realised I had a passion for tutoring and teaching in general.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I enjoy all aspects of science but my specialism, chemistry, is where I shine. I am passionate about the subject and in particular, about organic chemistry. I like the idea of being able to depict how a reaction takes place using curly arrows and identifying issues around the reaction as a result.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I had several teachers growing up who inspired me. The most inspiring to me was my maths teacher who made maths easy to understand, supported me during lessons, had a laugh with us and made any after school interventions fun.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A few qualities of a good tutor include being able to communicate effectively, having strong subject content knowledge, having sound knowledge of metacognition and pedagogy (how people learn and retain information) and being flexible with timing and delivering content. Oftentimes you plan what you are going to do with a student ahead of time, and on the day they have been told they have a mock coming up which then shifts the priority.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

From personal experience, make sure the stopper is tightly placed on separating funnels - with the correct pressure they can act as projectiles.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

To understand chemistry requires time and patience. It is one of the hardest A-Levels to do well in and for most it does not come naturally due to the abstract nature of the subject.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I have a passion for science but outside of work, I prefer my gaming and reading
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?

I love my subject, I love teaching and as a result I have a drive to ensure students experience that.
