About Patrick

I've been an actor for 35 years and I've been an actor, director and teacher in the Capital Region for 20 years. I've directed 8 shows in the past two years which have had sold-out performances, Best of the Year honors and fantastic reviews. My students work throughout the Capital Region and there rarely seems to be a weekend when one of my former students isn't on stage.

I bumped into someone attending a play who was studying acting with someone and I realized that I could be an impactful participant on the Capital Region theater community by nurturing those interested to become powerful actors and audience members.

I spent my senior year of High School as an intern at NYSTI and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where I received an Associates degree and performed in their 1983-84 Production Company. Privately I have studied with Wynn Handman, Janis Powell & Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill.

About the lesson

I assess what level a student is at with a performed monologue. We discuss the student's experience and goals and how I can help them work in Capital Rehion theater and become the finest theater artist they would like to be.

A huge range from a 10 year old to retirees in their 60's and 70's. High School students who need to prepare college audition monologues, young professionals who need the artistic outlet and seniors who have always wanted to try it.

Find someone who won't flatter you but will keep pushing you.

The last Sunday performance of "Appropriate" at Albany Civic Theatre which had only 5 empty seats came the day after I drove down to the city to see "Travesties" and "Our Lady of 121st Street" with three students and two weeks after our Sixth Scene Night featuring 12 actors doing 13 pieces at the Albany Barn.

Details

Acting Class with Patrick White meets every Saturday from 10:30AM-1:30PM at the Albany Masonic Lodge (64 Corning Place) from September thru May. 8 classes for $240. I privately coach monologues for audition preparation at the rate of $30. an hour.
