About Nathalie
As a working actor, I'm directly pulling tips and experience from an evolving industry that seems to be as accessible as it is mysterious and impenetrable. My original training focused on directing, which allows me to diagnose a scene/monologue through a lens that will serve as a mirror to actors - allowing them access to feedback that would reflect that of a director, judge, audience member.
I'm interested in being your advocate, to help you find your confidence or regain it through the incorporation of improv and the greatest hits of Meisner, Viola Spolin, Chekov, Stella Adler, and Uta Hagen.
I'm also not here to nurture your ego. I give sincere and straightforward feedback with the intention of constructive criticism, concerning your presentation of materials.
When an actor has their ah-ha moment with a character they're portraying, I feel fulfilled as a coach, director, as a fellow castmate. Acting is a collaborative process, as much as it is a solitary experience that is unique to every actor in every role they portray. When we collaborate we have the ability to bring out the best in our fellow players as well as the worst - which is why this field requires training for optimum results.

You can expect to dive right into the work after a brief chat to discuss student's objectives, expectations, perceived struggles, and previous experience. Typically we will work with monologues at a minute or under, selected by the student, and I will also coach, consult, and prep scenes involving two or more actors at an agreed upon group rate - based on how many actors are in the scene.
