About Levi
I have spent 12 years as an AEA/SAG-AFTRA actor. I received my MFA in Acting from Brandeis University.
The craft of acting becomes a way of life, for those who truly pursue it. The art is bigger than the business and can illuminate practical truths about the human experience. Acting builds awareness, self control and knowledge, empathy and confidence. In the pursuit of the craft, an actor become more human.
I have a BA in Theatre Performance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University. I am in the stage actors union, AEA, and the screen actors guild, SAG-AFTRA.

About the lesson

First, I get to know the student. I get to know their goals and ask about their experience and training. I find out if they have any special concerns, and then we get started.
I build the class based on these answers and draw from a library of sources to help students gain vocal, physical and mental control. We work on text analysis and making every spoken word an action.
Once students have established themselves and understand the basics of acting, how to identify actions, obstacles, goals, emotional and physical stakes, bringing reality into the imaginary; we can begin to approach more nuanced characterizations and how to create characters that may seem vastly different than the actors "natural" state.
