About Andrew

I've been a theater and film professional for since 1969. I was a succesful actor, appearing on Broadway with Dustin Hoffman in Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN as his son Hap. Later appeared as a guest-star in over 40 television shows from Mash and Barney Miller right up to Ray Donovan. Films include Stephen Seagal's HARD TO KILL as Capt. Hulland.

When I started teaching twenty years ago, I brought decades of practical solutions to the challenges all actors face - from how to audition successfully (inspite of nerves), and how to have a process for acting in front of the camera that doesn't depend on 'feeling inspired' every time the director yells "action".

Over the years I've taught acting at USC, Cal. State U. Long Beach, the New York Film Academy, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Acting is about communicating, not about drumming up feelings on demand. The emotional 'fireworks' are only a bi-product of urgently trying to get through to someone when the stakes are high. (They usually are, BTW, underneath the surface)

Giving actors the tools to free up their creative expression and guiding them along to grow and flourish in their work is profoundly gratifying. I can honeslty say I love my work.

About the lesson

Acting lessons offered by Andrew are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Fullerton. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.

Deadly! Andy is FANTASTIC! It has been decades since I’ve done film and about 4 years since I’ve been on stage, and I was cast in a new Indie comedy as a wonderfully delusional character. Needless to say I was petrified!

Andy’s comedy chops are spot on! He has been guiding me with such care and precision, unearthing some delightful qualities of this character and helping me find her voice. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!
