About Will

Off Book Acting closes the gap between the "work" of preparing a role and the "play" of performing. We use improvisation tools and skills to bring the words on the page to life! We are passionate about actors taping into their insects and genuine selves to connect and play their role with spontaneity and purpose.

What I enjoy most about the work I do is digging into the story on the page! I love the process of understanding what the writer has given us and buidling a vivid full life of the role. My students have said time and again that my "super power" is my ability to put apart a script and see the story from many angles! Knowing the full story = freedom!

I started teaching because I wanted to give others a fresh take on what I have learned, most improtantly, what I had to learn on my own working in the entertainment industry.

I found my first teaching job working with youth and teens at 3-2-1 Acting Studios in La Crecenta CA. I would teach improvisation and on camera commercial auditions to young actors aged 5-18. I was hooked! Seeing actors light up and have that sparkle in their eye every class made my day! I knew this was a gift I wanted give to many actors!

I have over 20 years professional experience working in Theatre, TV, Film and Commercials. I have equal amounts of time spent in Improvisation. I have credits from Showtime, Comedy Central, NBC and Dozens of National Commercials.

I have taught at major LA studios as an improv teacher and on-camera acting coach. I currently am auditioning and working in LA.

About the lesson

Working with a new student starts with setting some goals and understanding what brings them to class. Our first day will be working with a short scene and performing some improvisation based on the written scene. Both skills (audition performance & improv) are used in class on a regular basis, so let's dive in and find out! There really is no difference for new students and other students. The goal of class is consistency and we all work on the same level and sides not matter how much experience. We believe inspiration comes at all levels!!

I have had the pleasure of working with professional actors in LA. Actors who have worked in TV & Film. Actors who are trained and are looking for a fresh approach to the audition process.

I thrive most when I work with actors who are new to the industry and want to focus on the foundation of acting. I believe anyone can act. The skills and tools you use to become the role are far more important than talent!

Interview them before you sing up. Ask for a phone call or zoom meeting. Get to know them.

Having trust and a connection with you acting coach is really important. I want to know my actors before we start working together so we can get on the same page and set up a game plan.

There are a lot of great acting coaches in LA. It is really important that you find someone who you trust and are willing to be open with.

Do not just jump into a class and wait to be told what to do or if you are good enough. A great teacher will never tell you that. They should help you find what makes you...you. The focus on the skills to help you become a strong actor!

Be in charge of your education. Ask for an interview!

Working with David Arquette on a Comedy Feature Film. The experience on set was so much fun! Above all, the red carpet interviews and premeire was a highlight to my year in 2021. It is such a blast to get a chance to talk about the process and see me acting on the big screen!!

My pricing system is as follows:

Ongoing monthly class with other actors (no more than 12 per class) = $220/month

1:1 private acting 8 week class: Story First $640

Private Audition and Self Tape Coaching = $100/hour
