About Addison

Helping students achieve their goals has always been my main priority. I started teaching acting in Hollywood in 1998. My first class was for commercial acting. I saw early success in that category and started offering audition technique and scene study for young actors that were starting out in TV and film. In 2001 I openened my second acting studio in Santa Monica. There I developed actors for lead roles in television projects that ultimately led to more and more actors working in film, and all other areas of professional acting.

I expanded my acting studio and hired additional teachers, many of whom are all successful acting coaches in Los Angeles.

I coached dozens of my own clients into lead roles in TV pilots, co-star and guest-star roles. I accompanied dozens of actors on Network TV shows, and I have prepared non-professional actors for roles in school plays, monologues, and auditions for local theater.

I had the unique position to own two separate companies, where one I was a talent manager, and the other I got to be an acting coach. Not everyone I coached could become a client for representation. My management company consisted of a small and refined group of actors, all of whom became professional working actors in commercials, episodic television, or feature films. It is a legacy that I am most proud of. Now that I am retired from managing actors, I get to spend my time either working fulltime in commercials, or helping other actors become better at what they do and land auditions.

I enjoy the process of learning and expanding by doing. I love working with other actors and learning from different directors. It's a lot fun creating new characters and seeing them come to life and grow. As a teacher it is an incredible feeling to know that your work will have a possitive impact on their lives. Seeing my students grow and expand is a gift from life.

I started teaching in 1998 at the urging of my own talent manager. My class of students started working in commercials. This led to more actors attending my class. My classes expanded into a thriving LA studio with over 100 students and three other teachers.

About the lesson

I first learn as much as I can from the students I work with. It's important to discuss both short term and long term goals so that we are on the same page as far as development and end results go.

I provide material/scripts from actual TV and film projects so that my students get to experience authentic material that they can play in their own way.

The timeframe will vary depending on whether we are in a private or group class.

I have worked with many different types of students; some of my students were novices (just starting out), and others are well established. Many are actors that you see on television.

I believe it is important to feel that you and the teacher speak the same language. While you want a teacher that will challenge you, it is also important to feel empowered by your teacher. That person will have a great deal of influence in the way you think.

Now that I am acting again I am really loving the process in a way that I didn't before. I love the cammaradie when working with other actors on set. And there is always something new to pick up and share with my students. In January I worked in a commercial that was super fun. In fact I recorded a video from getting the audition to the actual booking. I even recorded a reaction when I learned I had booked the gig. In fact the day I worked in the commercial spot was one of the best acting days I've ever had. I turned the video into a series of commercial classes that I offer on Udemy.
