About Joshua

I'm a Los Angeles based acting coach well versed in Film, Television, Theater, Classical Theater, Musical Theater, Voice Over, Dialects and Movement.

I've starred on Broadway and have appeared in Film, Television, in Animation and have done Voice Over.

Plus I'm an award winning Director and Choreographer.

I love seeing students understand and apply the various techniques I impart and then see them succeed and run with it! I also love breaking down the emotional content of a role or a scene and really connecting it to the performer. Once you get clear on that stuff, you will not be nervous in the room.

"Specificity Breeds Confidence"

I began coaching friends who asked me while I was starring on Broadway and then another colleague asked me be a guest panelist for his Monday night class and it really started to take off and lots of clients kept calling!

I have my BA in Theater from UC Irvine and my MFA in Classical Theater from the Professional Theatre Training Program originally located at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and then at the University of Delaware.

Plus I've worked in all mediums as an actor AND a director, so I really know "both sides of the table."

About the lesson

See where the student is, align on the student's goals and then start to work on the nuts and bolts to get them there. If they come to me for audition coaching, then it's creating and building the work into a polished, audition ready piece where the student is totally connected and engaged into the text and the emotional life around it.

All ages and all levels from kids starting out all the way through seasoned pro's with Broadway and Film Credits.

Bring your full self into the room. Be charged up and excited about your goals. It makes the learning and creative process wonderful. And record your sessions for archival study.

2 things happened this week. I student I found and coached both monologues and songs for, got into the entire 4 week both majors sessions at the Broadway Arts Alliance. Thousands audition and only a couple of hundred get in. He got into ALL sessions. A real coup! Also another client who has moved to NYC just contacted me and thanked me for all the help. He's getting great response from all the audition panels he's gone in front of.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Where do I see my self in 20 years, in 5 years and next year. Then proactively move forward to achieve the goal on a daily basis. Come in with some ideas and goals.
