About René
Hello everyone. I have been a professional actor in theatre, film and television for over 20 years having been based in New York City, Los Angeles. I have worked with prestegious theatre companies across the country, television networks and independent films. I have also taught acting privately through my own studio and at major universities including the Yale School of Drama. I teach acting based on Stanislavski acting method and as taught by Adler and Meisner. I also include physical approaches to acting work especially those based on the Suzuki Method of Actor Training.
I love creating characters and weaving my way through human behavior by analysing text and working closely with other actors to create a world. As a teacher and director, my passion is to see actors make new discoveries and breakthroughs while learning to analyze text, understand objectives and action, and create three dimensional and believable characters.
I began teaching while I was in graduate school, teaching beginning acting to undergraduate students.

I like to begin my work with an actor from where they are whether a beginner, or a veteran.
I have worked with absolute beginners and trained veterans. I have worked with kids as young as five years old and senior citizens.
When looking for an acting teacher/coach in Nashville, look at their experience in differnt acting mediums and their teaching experience in those mediums. Meet with as many teachers as you can to see if you connect.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be very specific and clear as to what you want to achieve in your acting career. Do you want to act as a hobby? Do you want to stay in Nashville and act here? Do you want to do community theatre and short films? Do you want to pursue acting as a career and move on to a bigger market (ie. Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Chicago)? Do you only want to work in theatre? Do you only want to work in film and television?
