About Luke
I'm able to cover any necessary material, whether it be Technique, Scene Study, Voice and Speech, or even Stage Combat!
Watching a student learn and grow is the most rewarding part of my job! Seeing new actors take chances and make choices that come from their own interpretive skills or creativity will never cease to thrill me
I started teaching theater for international high schoolers, and the moment I started was the moment that I knew it was something I wanted to do all the time!
I have taught theater at St. Giles' Summer Camp, Wallenpaupack Area Hight School, various Shakespeare Workshops for High Schools around the City, and I've taught my New York Theater Festival Scene Study Class for all ages for years. I trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy

It's entirely depend on what level of experience the student has! I always like to begin with a healthy balance of technique and scene study, so any new students can see how they compliment each other as they progress
Anywhere from 7 year olds to 50 year olds, from students who are brand new to acting to students who have been acting for years
Ask to sit in on a class, or see if you can get a first class for free! In this business, it's very easy to make a down payment for a teacher who isn't really a good fit for you, so be sure to check out their teaching style first and make sure it's the type of teacher that would be helpful for you
My life pretty much revolves around theater, so whenever one of my favorite playwrights has a new play premire in the city, it's always reason for excitment. Specifically, Martin McDonagh's "Hangman" at the Atlantic Theater or Naomi Wallace's "Night is a Room" at Signature
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about what they specifically want to accomplish and if there are any specific goals in mind. Other than that, I hope no question requires too much thought

Luke took his time and gave each student the time and energy they needed, no matter what level they were at. His knowledge of plays and playwrights stretches anywhere from Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams to Annie Baker and more. The combination of technique and creative freedom made for an excellent acting class that I hope to be able to take again soon!
I’m so happy that I chose to take this course. I had no idea what to expect but I’m thrilled. It’s been the highlight of my weeks! Luke is passionate about acting and I learned so much from him. He challenges me and I love watching him work with the class. It’s fun and stimulating
