About Courtney

I work to help students grow not only in knowledge, but in confidence. This will help them in their further courses as well, as they will learn techniques to study and understand the topics, rather than just memorizing it. I graduated magna cum laude with a biology degree and am attending Yale University for graduate school to become a nurse practitioner. My tutors gave me the confidence and knowledge to get to where I am, and I want to be able to do that for you!

I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in psychology. I have worked as a teaching assistant in many biology courses. I have tutored grades 3 through juniors in college ranging in subjects from science, English and history.

About the lesson

I like to start by getting to know the student and building a relationship with them. My style of teaching is more visual and hands on, so students can figure out what works for them and help them to understand rather than just memorize. I have students explain things to me, so we can see where the holes are and what still needs to be understood.

I have worked with kids from a variety of backgrounds including those with learning disabilities, special needs, and psychological disabilities.
