I had the privilege of having Kristian Stenslie as a student teacher this fall. Kristian's student teaching term was spent at Simle Middle School in Bismarck, North Dakota. He taught 7th grade Life Sciences and a homebase class. He worked with students with a variety of skills, interests, and backgrounds.

Kristian showed commitment to his students, the school, and the curriculum. He was prepared for the lessons and upcoming activities. During his time at Simle Middle School, Kristian participated in parent teacher conferences and various team/curriculum meetings.

Kristian showed enthusiasm while working with the students in the classroom. Students responded to Kristian well and enjoyed having him as a student teacher.

Kristian’s approach to teaching is best described as student centered with a focus on constructive learning. As he spent more time in my classroom to complete the practicum experience, it was easy to tell that Kristian cares deeply for the well-being and long term growth/success of the students he works with. He spent time interacting with the students to build positive relationships and to foster a learning environment that made the students feel safe and excited to learn.

Kristian has proven himself to be a dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate educator.
