About Sandra
I have been tutoring Anatomy and Physiology I&II, Neuroanatomy, and Gross Anatomy for almost 4 years now. My end goal is to become a Gross Anatomy instructor for Medical Schools.
I am currently working at a dermatology office to expand my knowledge of the skin of the human body. The skin is can be a complicated organ, so I want to retain as much knowledge as I can, so I can pass it on to my students.
I teach anatomy in a way most of my students retain the information very well. I love Anatomy and Physiology and Neuroanatomy. I am here to make Anatomy fun to learn. Yes it's a hard subject. I accommodate to my students' learning abilities. I can only hope to give students' a better understanding of the human body because its pretty awesome.
I enjoy the "light bulb" moment my students' get when they finally understand the material!
I enjoy drawing diagrams and pathways for students to better understand the human body.
I do like to ask questions a lot to see if they are retaining the information, but I'm going to be rude about it. If my student didnt understand this certain section, I will figure out another way for them to understand it.
I started teaching when a professor saw how well rounded my knowledge of Anatomy is when I was enrolled in Neuroanatomy and Human Cadaver Dissection. She gave me a job offer of becoming a Student Instructor for her A&P classes. I soon fell in love with teaching anatomy to students.
I have tutored A&P I/II for 4 years.
I was a paid Teacher's Assistant for Human Cadaver Dissection at a D1 college.

First: I try to understand how they are comprehending the material (visual learner or listening learner).
Second: I come up with a plan to best suit that student's needs to retain the knowledge better.
Third: I love to ask questions throughout the lessons to make sure the student is understanding the material.
I have worked with graduate students and undergraduate students in college.
My advice does not stress out of Anatomy. Yes, it is a hard subject and it will always be a hard subject. Everyone learns anatomy differently. Many of my students shut down after one bad grade, but I guarantee you that one bad grade does not dictate your final grade at all.

Ask any questions. There is no limit and never be afraid to ask.
