About Shellen
I'm a first year medical student (moving onto second) with CPR, AED, and EMT certification. I've taken all the pre-medical courses at my undergraduate school (The College of New Jersey), including Intro to Chemistry I and II, Physics I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Calculus. I scored in the 75th percentile on my MCAT and currently in the top 15% of my class. I'm also in a mentorship program affiliated with my medical school and look forward to helping other students that have struggled with MCAT/pre-medical sciences.
I worked in a research facility as a trainer where I've had to train new students that joined our lab. I specifically worked with rats, statistics involving data entering, and literature review.

When I work with a new student, I try to adapt to their learning style as everyone learns differently. I also determine their weaknesses and their strengths, finding ways to teach them using their strengths and allowing them to hone in on their weaknesses.
I would advise that the tutor you find has been successful in mastering the subjects that you seek assistance for. And a tutor that is willing to give a student the time and the patience as well. As someone who usually depended on herself to learn subjects because I was afraid I wouldn't find someone who'd be patient enough with me, I believe that quality is important in a tutor.
