About Abigail

Hello!

My name is Abigail Rose, a current Junior at the University of Georgia majoring in microbiology. I am very passionate about promoting interest in STEM careers and getting the next generation of students excited about learning! I have experience tutoring students in K-10th grade during my many years of child care experience. I am a pediatric nursing assistant and have a genuine passion for children, and seeing my students succeed.

I understand many students may be struggling with the online school format due to COVID-19, and as someone who has experience with online classes I am more than willing to help students develop online learning strategies to help them succeed!

I am prepared to help students with the following subjects:

- Biology (regular, honors, and AP)

- Chemistry (regular or honors)

- Physical Science

- Elementary Math

- Middle School Math

- General Elementary/ Middle School science courses

I began tutoring while nannying and babysitting as a highschool student. As I progressed in my academic career I began helping students with more difficult subjects and started to truly enjoy making these difficult classes feel exciting and rewarding.

As a college student, I have developed a process for studying and retaining information that I along with others have found to be very effective. I have taken numerous rigorous courses and proved successful in all of them. Upon request, I am open to sharing my college/ high school transcripts.

About the lesson

To begin I like to do a free 30-minute evaluation with the student to discuss strengths and weaknesses, and get a good understanding of their learning style. I also like to discuss the class in question and the material that will be covered. At the end of the session, I try to collaborate with the student/ parent to put together a tutoring schedule that best fits your schedule!

I have experience working with students from Kindergarten to 10th Grade.
