About John
I teach students a lifelong love of learning and research skills. I have ten years of being a professional college student and five years of past experience tutoring K-12. I also help students overcome comprehension difficulties. I provide extra support for students with developmental disorders and will build their self-confidence so they can use effective strategies and online resources to learning new subject matter. I am based in the United States Eastern Time Zone and operate between 11am to 11pm. I offer assessments for each student to ascertain learning skills, aptitude and knowledge areas so I can use their existing skills as a foundation to customize their learning experience, improve their motivation and transfer concepts to new subject areas. This allows me to demonstrate to them their own potential improve their confidence and introduce them to the joy of lifelong learning for individual life and career goals.

As a student, I started tutoring when I was in 5th grade to 1st graders. My mother was a substitute teacher and tutor.
I have been an instructor and teacher assistant and private tutor in math and languages specializing in difficult topics. I believe understanding, real experience and passion drives can provide the meme which can be passed easily to others.

Introduction, Obtain Learning Goals (SAT, homework, specific course interests) Q&A.
Assessment, Accommodations, Progress Tracking
Create customized and specific learning goals and a specific syllabus and schedule to meet those goals. Add interest and entertainment to program according to student's interest, tastes in humor and adventure. Assign first quest!
Collect quest and single question quiz on expected quest outcome. Continuous scoring in lieu of final exam. This and various hypothetical questions lead into material to supplement subject and provide conversational instruction. Provide key vocabulary and concepts for next quest assignment. Continue until material is covered.
If exam prepration is part of goal, engage in practice exams and assign online reading. Provide instructions for passing missed questions until exam is prepared for including a variety of possible unexpected questions.
Continue training plans and meet with other instructors to discuss performance and improvement and challenges. Refine plan continue to demonstrate improvement.
Provide a plan for safe and entertaining home project as a final exam. This gives a hands on approach to learning that more formal education may not provide. For every topic, there is an adventure to see and experience it for yourself. This improves retention in a holistic fashion. I also encourage socialization with organizations and groups for career, entrepreneurial and hobby subjects.
ESL (Chinese and more advanced english speaking Spanish, French native language students), learning disabilities, ASD, ADD, ADHD in IEP programs.
Decide if the area of expertise will be something to get through or a lifelong passion and discuss this up front with your prospective instructor or tutor. Find an instructor who can make the necessary subjects align with your passions.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I need? What support for this need will I require for my teacher? What are things I don't need or avoid? What should instructors avoid when instructing?
Who understands my needs most and can convey these for me when I cannot communicate. When is my support available to talk with my teacher?
How do I like to learn most? What do I also want?
