About Daniel

With more than 35 years of experience as a guitarist, I have performed extensively across the United States and internationally, delivering concerts, lectures, and masterclasses to diverse audiences. Deeply inspired by legendary artists Paco de Lucía and Tommy Emmanuel, my musical style reflects a rich fusion of technical precision and expressive artistry.

I am passionate about teaching guitar to students of all ages, levels, and musical interests. My goal is to create a positive, inspiring, and engaging learning environment where each student can develop a deep appreciation for music while progressing at their own pace. I believe that the journey of learning music should be as enjoyable as the destination.

I currently serve as a guitar professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University and Union Adventist University. I am also honored to be a Music Art Ambassador for the Nebraska Arts Council, a guest teaching artist for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and a Teaching Artist in Residence at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

In recognition of my contributions to the music community, I was proud to receive the 2023 Major Choice Award for Best Musician in Lincoln and the Nebraska Governor’s Outstanding Artist Award in 2025.

Sharing my knowledge and experience is one of my greatest joys. I am dedicated to nurturing the unique musical voice of each student and supporting their artistic growth every step of the way.

People asked me after performing if I teach, so I thought about it and now I share all my knowledge and experience to my students.

I've being playing guitar for 25 years and teaching for almost 15 years and I am currently the guitar teacher at Union College here in Lincoln, NE. I'm also a teacher in residence for The Lied Center for Performing Arts and a teaching artist for Nebraska Arts Council.

Deadly! Daniel teaches you about the guitar in a holistic well-rounded way. He teaches you to think about what different senses are used and how they are engaged while you are playing. You will also understand and learn the applications of music theory. His teaching style keeps you engaged and moving forward. I have made and seen improvements from his teaching methods every week. I highly recommend working with Daniel.

Daniel teaches in a way that helps you understand way you are playing what you're playing. He doesn't just tell you and show you the correct way of doing things, he goes past that, so that you understand the theory behind why you are doing it. I started a little over a year ago playing guitar with him, and couldn't be happier. I thought I would go in and have him show me some methods on how to play guitar. Now I'm playing, and can even play a song by ear. I've started taking piano lessons with him too, since I like his teaching methods.
