About Josh

I've never liked the word "tutoring." You have so much value as a student, and my only job is to help you bring that out -- not sit with a textbook and make you uncomfortable. I'm not here just to answer your math questions -- I'm here to show you that you're a fantastic student, and you're only going to keep improving. Go get em!

I know it's cliche... I know that... but the A-HA! moment gets me every time. I love math and that has to be the best feeling in the world! I'm a Differential Equations student, which means I can spend 20-30 minutes wrestling with a problem. I might try 5 different techniques to integrate a function before I find the one that works. Guiding you towards that moment is my job description, and I couldn't be happier to do this for a living.

I've been interested in tutoring for a while, but I didn't know if I'd be able to find enough students. I finally sat down over coffee with a friend of mine who teaches high school math. He helped me through the process, and even found some students who were interested! I found that I love teaching more than I'd imagined, and haven't looked back.

About the lesson

You won't find me handing out any workbooks or following a strict process. Learning is a journey, and I'm honored to be a part of yours. I don't lecture, I host office hours -- show me what you need help with and we'll work through it together. Two things I expect:

1. You've taken notes on the subject

2. You've attempted the homework

That's it!

Don't be uncomfortable with your choice. There's a lot of stigma around "tutoring" and it's completely normal to be a little embarassed to ask for help at first. But, after a couple sessions you should feel like you made the right choice. Choose somone who is interested in what you're studying and pays attention to your needs.

$25 - 30 minutes

$35 - 1 hour

$50 - 1.5 hours
