About Shane

Hello, my name is Shane. I am 18 years old and a huge nerd for social studies and history. History is what brought us to where we are in the modern times today. It's exciting to think about where we came from and how we have learned so much over the years to bring us to now. My goal with tutoring you is to help you understand the history of the world in a fun, exciting and engaging way!

I started teaching in high school with my classmates. Many of my classmates did not understand anything that had to do with history. When they saw that I kept acing my history exams, they began to ask me questions about certain concepts in history. From there, I was able to help them understand and grow.

I am a high school graduate. I understand the concepts of history and the messages our history gives to us.

About the lesson

I want to start slowly to be sure that you as the student are able to understand paticular concepts of history. Each student has their own unique way of learning.

Usually, the students I worked with were your average high school student. Someone who needs to pass that class. But I've worked with all types of students. Even the so called "class clown".

If you are a student who doesn't understand history or maybe finds it boring, I am the perfect tutor for you. I will explain it to you in a clear and fun way.

Recently, a little bit before graduation, I sat in a row with some friends. At the end of the row was this student who was always making all sorts of rucus for the teacher. I always ignored him. But one day, about a week before our final exams, he came up to me. I was suprised because I've never talked to this guy in my life. And he goes, "Shane, I need your help or else I'm not going to graduate." I ask, "What do you need help with?" Long story short, the guy needed help understanding US government economy. So I agreed to help him everyday after school, within a week. When the exam came, he passed, getting above average then the rest of the entire class.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If you feel like you need a tutor, then good for you. Most students wouldn't care enough to even be looking for a tutor. A tutor is a great way to get a greater understanding of a paticular topic. In this case, social studies/history.
