About Ethan
Hello! Very nice to meet you. My name is Ethan Venable. I am a Middle and High school teacher with 2 years of experience. I will do everything in my power to help you understand an assignment, pass a quiz/test, and pass that difficult Social Studies Class!
I am a certfied teacher from grades 6-12 in the states of Louisiana and Texas.

I tutored students in math and reading throughout high school for family friends and anyone that attended my local library. Throughout my college career, I assisted students in classrooms that I observed while attaining real world, teaching experience. I have one year of residency teaching and as a practicing educator employed in Louisiana schools.

When working with a new student, first I get to know them academically. I will ask them questions that let me know about how well they've done with other subjects at their current grade level and previous social studies classes. I will also ask them questions pertaining to their attitude toward the subject. Lastly, I will ask them about how they best learn. All of these questions will help me provide the student with individualized assistance.
I have worked with all sorts of students ranging from 504 accommodated students, inclusion SPED students, proficient students, and every other student in between.
I would say to a student to pick someone you trust and get along with. We all have different personalities and levels of experience and I would always tell my students to pick someone that they know will help them achieve the results they seek.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

2. How well have I done with this subject in the past?
3. Are there certain factors (teacher, friends in class, extracurriculars) that hinder my performance?
4. What helps me learn the best?

Details
I usually base my pricing on level of difficulty. For students in grades 9-12, I usually charge $30/hour, and for students in grades 6-8 I charge $25/hour.
Although I do not have any experience teaching students in grades 5 and under, I would be willing to help them with all subjects and my rate would be between $15-20/hour.
