About Lindsey
I have been tutoring for about 6 years. During the day, I work as an aerospace engineer, but I always find myself coming back to tutoring because I love mathematics and I love teaching. I firmly believe that there is no such thing as someone who is bad at math or science. There are just those who have not been fortunate enough to have a teacher who will adapt to their learning style. I want to teach you not just how to get to the answers and memorize equations- but to truly understand why they work and leave you with a new understanding that will feel so intuitive you will never feel like you have to memorize again.
I started tutoring nearly six years ago when I was in high school. Now, I have earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

I firmly believe in learning by doing. I like to have the student bring their homework or assignment to me and ask them about what they feel most and least comfortable with. After getting accustomed to what they already know- I usually start with what they are most confused about. If it comes down to a deep misunderstanding of a concept, I will explain it to them using examples or diagrams. Then, I will have them attempt the problem in front of them, asking them to explain their thinking out loud. As a general rule, I avoid doing the problems for the student, and I avoid telling them exactly where they have gone wrong until they at least attempt it on their own. Part of learning is recognizing your mistakes and working through them and you will not always have a tutor to double check your work!
