About Sandra
Hi, my name is Sandra! I enjoy helping students learn. They are happiest when they know the why and how. I will help them understand what the assignment is requiring them to do. This usually will empower them and will give them the excitement of trying. I like using flashcards, visuals, and find that audios help in many cases. I taught most school subjects to my own four kids at home. They are now college graduates with excellent jobs! I consider this my longest tutoring experience. I have tutored other children as well.
I have a BS in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. I worked in the computer field before becoming an elementary computer teacher. After this, I homeschooled for 18 years. I have also taught computer lessons, and guitar in home school co-ops. I speak fluent Spanish, so if you are a Spanish speaking parent, I can communicate the child's progress with you.
I like to see the joy in students when they understand a task. They can now move on to having some fun in the subject they are studying.
I liked seeing the results of others teaching their children at home.
I have homeschooled my children for 18 years, successfully. I have taught classes such as guitar, computer, and Spanish.

I like for them to get to know me so that they feel comfortable asking me questions. I ask them about their hobbies, sports, favorite books, favorite subjects.
I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have they have read the assignment directions carefully? Have they looked at examples, and notes they have taken of assignment ? Do they have a pencil & paper, and assigment sheet ready ? Have they considered recording the tutoring session ?
