About Taylor
Howdy! My name is Taylor Phthisic (pronounced Tiz-ic) or you can just call me Ms. T. I’ve been teaching math and science for 3 years in North Carolina. Math and Science have always been my favorite subjects to teach! I have a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Im an enthusiastic, understanding, and patient teacher. As of right now 6th grade Science and Math are my strong suits because that is the grade I taught. I’m also volunteering in 4th grade as a math tutor so I am getting better at learning the standards for that as well. Although I have strong suits, I am more than happy to study other grades and their standards for math and science. My goal is to help students learn using what they know and building upon it. I’m the type of teacher that doesn’t mind using different methods to get the same answer. When it comes to science I break it down as simple as possible and try to relate it to real life situations that the student has experienced. Not only is my goal for students to understand, it is also to get them to have confidence and even enjoy learning.
