About Emily

I offer affordable math tutoring for students of all ages from elementary school to college. All of my lessons are done online through zoom and I will walk through every problem with you, writing out the steps one by one. My tutoring is tailored to each specific student so we can create a plan that focuses on what you need.

I enjoy seeing students succeed in areas that have continuously frustrated them. I like to help students by offering them an understanding of what they are learning instead of just giving them the answers. By doing so, they can not only do great on the work they do with me, but they can also apply that understanding to their class work and tests. That lightbulb moment when a student finally understands what they have been having trouble with is one of the best moments for me as a tutor.

I started teaching by volunteering to tutor students at school. Gradually, I started tutoring outside of school for students who wanted some extra help and needed more focused learning. I concentrating on customizing schedules to target specific areas that the student needed help with.

I have completed pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry/trigonometry, pre-calculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, college level Calculus 1 and Calculus 2.

About the lesson

First, I will discuss with you what areas you want to work on specifically. Then, we will create a plan that will help focus a schedule on your needs. We can work through homework or I can look for problems to do with you. Everything can be tailored for you.

Elementary school: $20/hour

Middle school (Pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry): $25/hour

High school (Algebra 2, Pre-calculus): $30/hour

(AP calculus AB/BC, statistics): $35/hour

College (Calculus 1/2): $40/hour
