About Joy

Hello!

My name is Joy, and I am a Top Pro at this website. To share a bit about myself, I graduated from Yale University with a degree in Neuroscience and a certificate in Education. I've been tutoring and teaching for the past 5+ years and enjoy working with students of all ages and levels. I have experience teaching elementary, middle school, high school, and college students and have taught various subjects, including SAT/ACT prep, college essay writing, college admissions consulting, math, science, English, Korean, and more.

I interned for the nation's largest pre-service teaching training program, so I have experience working with students of different backgrounds and learning styles.

My specialty is college admissions consulting, SAT/ACT prep, and math. I've been an SAT tutor for four years and also have experience working for a private SAT prep company. In addition, it hasn't been very long since I've taken the SAT test myself, so I'm very familiar with the questions and testing strategies. I myself scored in the 99 percentile when I took the SAT in high school and received a perfect score (800/800) in the math section. I've also guided students through their college admission process and helped them gain admission to prestigious institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.

I want to get to know you and help you in any way I can so that you can succeed and fulfill your goals. We'll be a team, and I will help you every step of the way. If there is anything I can help you with to alleviate your stress in schoolwork or academics, please let me know. I'm happy to help!

My experience working with students has allowed me to understand the learning methods that work best for them. I will do my best to ensure a phenomenal learning experience for you!

About the lesson

Mathematics lessons offered by Joy are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Fort Worth. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.

Deadly! My son was needed to raise his scores 2-3 points in each category in a 2 week period to be accepted into the US Air Force Academy. Joy was very accomodating, friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, patient, and able to work with us on our hectic schedule. Joy was successful in helping my son raise his scores in that short time he worked with her. We couldnt be happier with our experience and HIGHLY recommend Joy to anyone looking for a great tutor!

Deadly! Joy was very flexible and able to work with our sons schedule to complete his prep work.
She was thorough and encouraging. Our son ended up with a 1550 on the SAT after working with her. Can't say enough about Joy!
