About Sandy

Do you ever think that math is just not for me? It's just too hard and you will never understand it?

I have experience with many students in different age group and skill level and I have a unique way of explaining and interpreting concepts - Let me be the translator and make the language of math come easy to you!

Teaching and mentoring is my passion. I have a heart for education and I love to inspire. I believe that everyone can learn everything - you just need someone to provide direction.

I've been tutoring since 2008 - I worked at tutoring centers while attending college and have been successful tutoring privately as well. I also taught at university level for 1.5 years before getting into business world.

About the lesson

We will start by getting to know a bit more about your learning style and what has been covered in the class. Lesson pace will be determined by each student. I do expect student to come prepared with material from classes for discussion for typical tutoring.

However, I also offer the get-ahead tutoring - in this type of tutoring environement, it is determined that the student is doing fairly well with current topic and I will make lesson plan to prepare for what is coming next in the next level of learning area.

I've worked with students anywhere from pre K to college. I have worked with student with attention disorder as well.

Details

I charge by the hour. For the tranditional tutoring, it will be hourly rate + travel fee.

For get-ahead where lesson plan is needed, I will charge prep + hourly rate + travel fee.
