About Nicholas

Education and learning is a life long journey, and I am always passionately seeking others to join me in this journey. I have always had a love for math, chemistry, and physics, and I am quite proficient in all of them. I have a lot of tutoring experience from college, where I would often help students with physics, mathematics, and chemistry problems within the assistance centers provided by my university. I also have some informal training as a tutor by tutoring my two little brothers for free. I have been working with my little brothers for a very long time and have seen them grow as learners, and I learned that each student has their own pace. As a tutor, it is important to be respectful of each students pace, to best build a plan for them to succeed. I currently am finishing up my major in general studies that is focused in chemistry and physics. I also have a minor in mathematics, from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. What sets me apart from other tutors is having a deep understanding of the student. Everyone learns in different ways, and at different paces. Its important to analyze the student, and develop a plan of action that both respects the pace of the student, and takes advantage of what type of learner the student is. I really enjoy seeing how different students take different approaches to learning, and its one of the reasons I chose to be a tutor!

My Father started tutoring, and it inspired me to start tutoring on the side to make some extra money.

I am a general studies major focused in chemistry and physics, with an Associates in mathematics. I have taken just about every math class that the layman can think of. I took Calc 1-4, multidimensional mathematics, linear algebra, and statistics.

About the lesson

Learn the student first by asking both yes and no questions and open ended questions. Nothing too serious where they feel pressure right out of the gate, but this information is crucial to me so I can learn how to best teach the student.

I have mainly just worked with college peers, and my little brothers.
