About Payton

I like to share my strategies: how to successfully ace your tests, how to write and proof-read essays, how to put together thorough projects (science, powerpoint, research essays, math samples and more). I offer a variety of strategies to accomplish these things based on the kind of student you are. The different view points and strategies I've acquired since I began tutoring creates a unique experience with each student I encounter.

I understand that one tutor might work for one student but may not work for another student. I aspire the opportunity to help people learn and grow in their own ways by offering a variety of strategies I've acquired by teaching others. I enjoy learning just as much as I enjoy to ability to teach others.

I started by tutoring friends and friends' children; I lately decided I wanted to expand my services and offer tutoring to those who need it - especially in times like these where online learning may be more difficult for students to interpret in oppose to learning in a classroom. I have several friends who aspire to further their education and have requested for help in certain portions of obtaining their GED/High School Diploma. I'm both happy and proud to say I have successfully helped 3 adults obtain their GED or begin the route to obtaining one. I feel like I have a purpose when I am able to help people (children, teens, and adults) understand content by using strategies they may not have seen before. Offering a new perspective on study content often helps a student realize that there are other lights in which to view their education. Some students acquire knowledge by strategy A (ex. writing all steps on a piece of paper), while others may need strategy B (using counters or visuals). I understand that everybody acquires knowledge in their own unique way, and I'm happy to adapt to that way.

I am a long-time 4.0 student, currently attending community college and offering help to elementary, middle, and high school students. I love everything about education and believe that everyone has the ability to acquire new knowledge every day! I want to share what I know and help others become successful in their studies.

I like to find common ground with new students. It builds trust to discuss what our strengths and weaknesses are, and I want students to feel comfortable confiding in me with all of their questions and concerns!

For elementary students (of all grades) I have successfully helped with: Cursive, math, reading, spelling, pronouciation, general sciences, and general social studies.
