About Yuliana
My name is Yuliana and I have a Bachelors of Science and a Masters in Math Education. My passion lies in the study of adolescent brain development. Learning how a student learns and teaching to their specific brain style is what I do best. I am in my 7th year of teaching high school and elementary math.
My classroom is called a flipped classroom where my lectures are online and assignments are done in class with groups instead of for homework.

I started off college as pre-med Biology and hated every minute of it. I started tutoring math during that time in order to make extra money. I realized I could help the most struggling students, because I struggled through elementary, middle school, and part of high school math. I changed my major ad never looked back.
I have a B.S. and a Masters in math education. I have taught math educators at conferences around California. My math videos have been picked by tutoring sites such as Learning Bird. I have taught grades K-12 math througout my 7 years of teaching.

I will ask a new student about concepts they are comfortable with. We will then pick 2-3 questions for them to work out from that topic. This will give me a baseling about how they process and patterns in their logic.
I have worked with a wider range of students from different backgrounds. Students' with IEPs are my speciality because I'm pasionate about indiviualizing math education.
Just because someone knows how to do math doesn't mean they can teach it. Find a tutor who is passionate about teaching more than the subject they are teaching. A good educator/tutor finds ways to teach to the indiviual student with different methods.
