About Elia
Hello, I’m Elia! I am currently finishing a PhD thesis at MIT. I’ve realized over the years that what makes learning math so meaningful to me is being able to share the ideas I’ve learned with others.
For the last 8 years years I’ve tutored SAT math and statistics, and have also taught classes in topics such as calculus, statistics, and topology. I’ve led several one-on-one research projects with high schoolers. For the last three summers I have been teaching at a wonderful mathematics camp for underrepresented high school students based out of MIT called MathRoots. My teaching experience has taught me that each student is different and that teaching works best when we consider where each student is coming from. I’m looking forward to hearing your specific goals and working towards them together!
I'm happy tutoring any age and almost any kind of mathematics that students need help with including:
ACT, SAT, GRE, Probability, Statistics, Pre-algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Discrete math, Number Theory, Partial Differential Equations, Differential Geometry, Topology, Real Analysis, Complex analysis.
My rate is $75/hr, negotiable. My policy is to ask for 24 hours notice before scheduling or rescheduling any lessons. I can also provide lessons in English or in Russian.
