About Vanessa
My name is Vanessa Zamora but my students usually just call me Ms. Vanessa! I am Texas State University Graduate where I received a degree in Psychology and minored in sociology. The passed two years I have been working for a school based non-profit called City Year where I served as a student success coach by mentoring and tutoring young individuals in Math and English. Most of my experience and expertise falls within Math up to the College Algebra level. In this role I received monthly trainings on tutoring practices and approaches to social-emotional learning. I am always looking for more opportunity to learn from my students just as I hope they can learn from me!

I believe its important to approach learning in holistic way. I prefer to get to take some time during my first lesson to get to know my students personally, examine how they prefer to learn and what motivates them academically. Once I have a established a clear picture of what my students goals are then I feel confident in tackling the issues at hand.
