About Mahmoud
As a current college student at Cal Poly, with 5+ years of tutoring, I bring experience complimented with enthusiasm! My previous job at Mathnasium, as a math tutor, allowed me to work with students with distinct abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and grade levels. I believe it is important to thoughtfully create an individualized approach so each student can learn efficiently in their personal unique ways. Through this learning, I make sure to create a fun and encouraging learning environment; the more enjoyable the session is for the student the greater the productivity rate of growth is met.
My leading skill as a tutor is a method I use called Socratic Questioning. By way of this method, rather than giving the student a straight-up answer to the problem, I ask the student a follow-up question to the problem through the previous knowledge that they already have. This method promotes independent thinking by the student to debate and evaluate the answer through their head. This strategy has helped students make substantial progress with their coursework by relying on themselves during tests and homework.
With my experience and techniques, I hope to have the opportunity to work with your child and make school fun!
