About Doug

I love coaching and teaching. In addition to performing trainings in corporate environments, I have coached youth and high school sports for 28 years. I scored an 800 on the math SAT, a 5 on the Calculus AP exam, and graduated from the University of Virginia with a 3.6+ GPA.

I really enjoying helping a student "get it" when I know that student is motivated and really trying hard. Whether it's helping a young quarterback master the mechanics of throwing a football, or helping an algebra student to solve quadratic equations, nothing beats that feeling when you see the light turn on for the student.

I started with coaching youth sports in 1994.

B.S. in Marketing and Finance, University of Virginia. 3.6+ GPA.

800 on Math section of the SAT. 1420 total score.

5 on AP exams in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics.

4.0+ GPA in High School. Roger Ludlowe High School, Fairfield, CT.

Led and attended dozens of seminars on training and coaching methodolgy.

About the lesson

Initial consultation consists of an interview of the student to determine his or her goals and objectives and what has already been done to accomplish those. A determination is then made whether the goals and objectives are reasonable and the the student and I togehter create a roadmap to achieve those goals. There will be intermediate goals and checkins where we will evaluate our progress and make changes to the plan as necessary.

Mostly athletes at this point. Most of my academic tutoring has been for family or friends, but I am ready now and excited to help whatever students are interested and with whom I'm a good fit.

Find someone you can communicate with - oftentimes, either the studen or the teacher understands something they need to the other party to understand, but if they don't communicate well, that opportunity gets lost and oftentimes the entire learning process suffers.

At my last corporate job, I was in charge of training new sales hires, and I helped several employees with little to no sales experience to becoming among our top producers.

Each case will be bid separately based on the specific requirements of the client. While each case is unique, the billing will be based on approximately $35-40/hour as a starting point.
