About Glorielly
Hi, my name is Glorielly Gonzalez. I'm a sophomore biochemistry major at Lawrence University with a pre-med focus and a cumulative GPA of 3.87. As a person, I'm patient, kind and compassionate. I love helping people learn and build up their confidence in school. I believe that education is the key to success in life. By tutoring, I want to help as many people as possible access that.
I've been tutoring students since 2015. In my experience, I've tutored ages 10-16 in various subjects. The way I like to tutor is to break topics down to their foundation. This way, my tutee and I can work together to fill any holes in their knowledge. My goal is for my tutee to gain the confidence and skill needed to prosper.
My qualifications include: graduating from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (a STEM-based high school), Maintaining a 3.87 GPA in my at Lawrence University (a liberal college).
My best subjects include: Math (basic math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, basic statistics (coding in R)), Biology (introductory biology, cellular and molecular, genetics, introductory immunology), Organic Chemistry, and Beginner and Intermediate Spanish.
I enjoy tutoring because I enjoy watching people thrive. I love the moment when my students finally understand a concept they've been struggling to grasp. It's a fulfilling feeling for both of us. I too love instilling the confidence that people need for success through my tutoring.
I started tutoring through volunteer work with my former high school. Our mission was to tutor disadvantaged kids to level the playing field for admission into my rigorous high school. The experience opened my eyes to the importance of education, for I saw how the students' confidence rose with each problem solved. Ever since then, I've never stopped tutoring.
I graduated from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (a STEM-based high school)
I am currently upholding a 3.87 GPA in Biochemistry and Lawrence University.
I've been tutoring math and science since 2015.

For new students, I like to be able to talk to them so that we can set a little more of a personal connection so that learning doesn't feel so mechanical.
Next, I like to see what students are working on a see where problems may lie.
Once we see the problem, we can set a plan to relearn the material from the foundation up; While of course, getting through homework and course work if necessary.
I've worked with elementary, middle, and some high school students, and some college students as well.
Don't be afraid to reach out. We are kind and (most of us) non-judgemental.
Reaching out for a tutor is one of the best things you can do to set yourself up for success. Once you've mastered the basics with us, we can open up the doors to more learning opportunities and help put you ahead of the curve.
