About Verlyn

Quality of work

The same photographer that I started working for right our of college also owned a camera store. I started working in the store and soon I was managing the camera store. It was during that time I set up an 8 week camera class that met one evening a week. I had to limit it to 20 students at a time to make sure everyone got atttention. I went from How a SLR Camera Works to having everyone shoot a roll of B&W film and developing it plus make some prints. We fortunately had a very large darkroom.

I have a BS degree in Mass Communications which involved many photography classes and assignments. Soon after college I went to work for an excellent portrait photographer and soon I was photographing weddings and seniors. I have spent hours in a darkroom. I owned my own color lab. Currently we do dozens of weddings and family portraits. We have won the Weddingwire Couples' Choice Award every year since 2015 including 2020.

About the lesson

Evaluate what they know now and start from that point. I find it difficult to move forward if one does not know how a single lens reflex camera works for example. It has everything to do with every aspect of photography.
