About Nicole
I provide comprehensive and compassionate tutoring in a range of subjects, including chemistry, biology, physics, math, and english.
I recently graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor's of Arts in Science, Technology, and Society Studies on the pre-medical track. My concentrations (minors) were in Hispanic Studies and Asian American Studies. Upon graduation, I was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa prize for the student with the most outstanding academic record in the graduating class (3.96/4.00 GPA). I've recieved other merit-based awards, including the Olive Lammert Award for outstanding work in biochemistry, the Tananbaum Fellowship for Work and Development, and the Cornelisen Fellowship.
Professionally, I've worked in various cross-cultural medical and public health settings, including community health centers in NYC Chinatown, Chile, and Switzerland. I presented my work on migrant mental health for the U.S. embassy in Bern, Switzerland.
I have eight years of tutoring experience working with tutees of all ages—from elementary schoolers to college students. Most recently, I served as a supplemental instructor and quantitative center tutor for college-level chemistry students. More information about my work experiences can be found on my LinkedIn, linked below.
As a growth-oriented educator, I enjoy helping to foster learning, passion, and motivation in students. I believe tutoring is a means of social support and connection as much as it is a space for education.
