About Emil
Hello, my name's Emil! I'm a physics grad student and I'm struggling to pay my bills in these crazy times. As much as I would like to just focus on doing physics, the real world wouldn't let me. So, instead of selling my soul to a heartless economic machine to pay the bills, I would rather share my passion for physics with people who are interested to get involved with our ongoing quest to understand the nature of our reality. Physics for me is not just another class you have pass. It's a way of becoming more human by learning better and more powerful methods of satisfying our need to know and understand who we are and finding our place in this universe.
BS Applied Physics, University of the Philippines Diliman
BS Physics, University of Texas at San Antonio
Currently doing my PhD in Physics at University of Texas at San Antonio

I've always been really enthusiastic when it comes to sharing what I know with people and even then, I did get a feeling that people are not really too thrilled to learn about the animals that live in hadalpelagic zones.
Then I worked as an after school tennis coach in high school and got involved with NHS tutoring where people appreciated more of what I had to say about tennis and the mechanics involved in hitting a succesful forehand or how to prove a geometric theorem or balance a chemical equation. It was nice. Some of them were still forced to sit with me, but at least it wasn't me who was doing the forcing anymore and it was different.
But as I grew older, I slowly understood how most of our lives are lived in worlds built upon that of which we know and of how much of the world we actually understand.
Since then, I've approached teaching and education with more seriousness as it enables as to grow into the spaces of our humanity we've never explored before. And I feel that the more expansive we become, the more variety of experience and the more of the world we can intergrate into our lives to make our lives more dynamic and our character more fully human.
I am a trained physicist and have been involved in labs and organizations that value the physicist's role in society as educators. I have facilitated lab tours and conferences, attended scientific symposiums and forums, a member of the physics honor society sigma pi sigma, worked for tutoring centers, and taught at public school and collegiate classrooms.

Since physics, like most sciences and mathematics are linear subjects, meaning that they stack concepts upon one another, I need to figure out gaps in understanding first. Complex concepts are always derived from simple first principles. Anyone with a solid foundation on these first principles will always be able to understand and even derive more advanced and complex concepts.
I've worked with elementary students, Middle school students, Highschool students, and College students. I've even tutored working adults who are trying to go back and conquer their fear of physics or calculus.
Be clear on what you want. Then you'll know exactly what you have to do. And if you are lacking in something, then you know exactly what kind of help you need.
There was a recent total lunar eclipse that happened not too long ago. And as I was watching the moon turn red from my hammock, I realized that it was red for a wonderful reason.
In our planet, at any given time, there is always a sunrise and a sunset event happening somewhere in the world.
And at that moment, all the sunsets and the sunrises in the world are being reflected off the moon and I am there to witness it. Simply beautiful.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should ask yourself why this is important for you. To be honest, I don't think any of this matters in a billion years. But since you and I are here right now, we have to really live this life to its limits.
So find that thing that makes you feel real. And if understanding the nature of your reality is what makes you feel real, then you're just like me! And I will be more than happy to help you get up to speed.
Because learning physics is all about joining a great conversation that has been going on for thousands of years now. I'm just here to guide you through your backreading of what's been figured out. The goal eventually is for you to have a voice in this conversation to keep it going for future generations to come. :)

What I really liked about the physics tutoring compare to Chemistry or Bio dpt is that Physics tutors really knew the material and the reason was most likely all of the tutors were physics major compare to chemistry tutoring were just anybody was just tutoring. Emil was the tutor that helped me throughout physics I material and was super patient and knowledgeable.
Emil did a very good job at explaining every topic I needed help on. I took physics during the pandemic and had to attend virtual sessions and he always went above and beyond to make sure I understood the topics. He’s very flexible and patient!
Emil was a fantastic tutor who always made himself available and was extremely flexible in terms of scheduling! He made my experience taking Physics II so much easier and more fun due to his vast knowledge of the subject and creative way of teaching. Overall I highly recommend him as a tutor!
Knows his stuff
Emil was awesome. He would take several different approaches to explain something in order to help me best understand the material.

If you're just as broke as me, I get it. You'll just have to spend an hour teaching me something you're quite good at yourself for every hour that I tutor. A skill for a skill.
