About Jemille

I have a Bacherlor of Physics from the University if Delaware and a masters degree in Medical Physics from San Diego State University.

Scored in the 97th percentile in Math on the ACT when I was in high school.

I have taught math for two years and physics for one in middle and high school in the past.

With the impact from Covid-19, I am looking to help out with the likely high demand for remote education and tutoring.

Between degrees I took up teaching as a job.

I have a masters degree in physics.  I taught high school physics for one year, was a teaching assistant who taught a lab for two years at San Diego State, and I've taught 7th grade math and precalculus for one year.

First I try to identify where the student is in terms of their understanding of the concepts.

I've worked with both gifted students, students with behavioral problems, and students on the spectrum.

My advice is practice makes perfect.  In math and science, even once you understand the concept, sometimes arriving at the answer isn't straightforward.  Practicing extra problems forces the student to encounter different situations so that  nothing is surprising by the time the test comes.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should only be honest about what they know and don't know.  It makes it easier for the teacher to identify the problem the student is facing.
