About Katie

In my second year of university in Biomedical sciences I achieved 84% due to lots hard work and revision as I don't always 'get' things straight away. I know what it's like and as a result I'm good at producing helpful methods to learn tricky information. I have a passion for biology and would love to find a way to help you understand it more easily. I know myself it can be difficult to understand some of the processes at first but when you really break them down and go through things slowly you will start to find them much more interesting. I think its useful to find new ways of mapping pathways and processes out to actively understand the content, this is much more valuable for your learning and revision than just writing notes and not actually fully understanding the work. I'm easy to talk to and enjoy working with people, I am also patient and understanding.

About the lesson

Firstly, my classes always focus on you specific weaknesses. When we have discussed where they are I like to start at the very beginning of that topic and slowly build a clear knowledge up. To do this I show my pupils my own diagrams that students find really helpful and easy to understand. I will never move on when you don't fully understand the previous information, no matter how long it takes as I am patient and understanding. Honestly, its a lot easier than you think and you can do it!

Katie even offered to mark Lucy’s mock tests which helped immensely. Lucy achieved a grade A in her A level and got into her top choice university. I couldn’t recommend Katie enough.
