About Zhe

Hello, my name is Zhe Jin. I am a violin teacher, music educator, and lifelong learner passionate about helping students discover the joy and meaning of music.

I hold a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from Oklahoma City University and have more than ten years of teaching experience working with students of different ages and backgrounds. I currently teach music in a K–8 school in Texas, where I work with hundreds of young learners each year.

My musical training is rooted in the great European violin tradition through the pedagogical lineage of the renowned violinist Henryk Szeryng. This heritage has shaped my belief that strong technique, beautiful tone, and musical expression should grow together from the very beginning of a student’s journey.

Over the years, I have learned that successful teaching is not only about transferring knowledge. Every student learns differently, and my role is to guide, encourage, and help them develop confidence while building solid musical foundations.

Whether you are a complete beginner, a dedicated young musician, or an adult returning to the violin after many years, I strive to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where progress feels achievable and enjoyable.

I believe music is not simply a skill to be mastered—it is a lifelong companion that enriches our lives, deepens our understanding of ourselves, and connects us with others.

I look forward to being part of your musical journey.

About the lesson

Learning the violin should be exciting, rewarding, and enjoyable. My goal is not only to teach students how to play the instrument, but also to help them develop confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience and currently work as a music educator in a K–8 school in Texas. Having worked with hundreds of students of different ages and backgrounds, I understand that every learner is unique. My lessons are personalized to fit each student’s goals, learning style, and pace.

For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation through proper posture, technique, rhythm, and musical understanding. For intermediate students, lessons can include tone production, shifting, vibrato, music theory, performance preparation, and musicianship.

I believe students learn best when they feel successful. My teaching approach is encouraging, structured, and patient. I break complex skills into manageable steps so students can make steady progress and enjoy the learning process.

Many students struggle because they are asked to focus on perfection too early. I believe students should experience the joy of making music from the very beginning, while gradually building strong technical foundations.

Whether you are a complete beginner, a returning adult learner, or a young musician looking to improve, I would be delighted to help you achieve your musical goals.
