About Imani
Music is my passion, and sharing that joy through teaching violin is truly rewarding. I’ve trained extensively at the High School for Violin and Dance and have performed in a variety of orchestras. I believe everyone has an inner song waiting to be heard, and being part of that journey is an honor. As your tutor, I’m dedicated to providing clear, patient guidance and a supportive environment where you can grow confidently as a musician.

My teaching style is fun, supportive, and rooted in strong fundamentals. I use the numerical finger pattern method (often called the “number system” or fingerboard mapping method) to help students quickly learn finger placement and scales. I also integrate music theory into lessons so students not only play, but understand what they’re playing. A typical lesson includes warm-ups, technique building, learning songs, and a bit of creative play. My lessons are great for beginners to intermediate students of all ages—whether you’re picking up the violin for the first time or returning to it. What sets me apart is my deep love for violin, which I’ve had since 3rd grade, and my passion for sharing it through personalized, joyful teaching.
